Allah says in the Noble Quran,
The importance of forgiveness for a Muslim

"Kind words and the covering of faults (of others) are better than charity followed by injury. And Allah is Rich (free of all needs) and He is Most Forbearing."

(Qur'an al-Baqarah 2:263)
