“The planning of The Almighty is better for you than your own planning, and He could deprive you from what you ask to test your patience. So let Him see from you a determined patience and you will soon see from Him what will give you joy. And when you have cleaned the paths of answering from the stains of sins and were patient about what He has chosen for you, then everything that happens to you is better for you whether you were given or deprived of what you have requested.

Ibn al-Jawzi

“O you who worship without the presence of the heart! The likeness of you is as the likeness of a donkey that has had its eyes blindfolded while turning the mill. It thinks it has walked many miles, when it fact it has not left its place.

Imam Abdul-Qadir Gilani

“I do not feel that the West has really become less condescending toward foreign cultures than the Greeks and Romans were: it has only become more tolerant. Mind you, not toward Islam—only toward certain other Eastern cultures, which offer some sort of spiritual attraction to the spirit-hungry West and are, at the same time, too distant from the Western world-view to constitute any real challenge to its values.

Muhammad Asad (Leopold Weiss)

“The fearful is not the one who cries then wipes of tears from his eyes. But the fearful is the one who abandons what he fears being questioned about by Allah (on the day of judgement)

Sheikh Muhammad Hassan (born 1962)

“When He gives, He shows you His Kindness, when He deprives, He shows you His Power. And in all that, He is making Himself known to you and coming to you with His gentleness.

Ibn 'Ata Allah al-Iskandari

“Nikah is a contract that transfers responsibilities. Therefore know the man you’re thinking of marrying, and be sure that he is able to take care of you, more than your dad did. Islam empowers women with honour and dignity. Don’t settle for anything less.

Nouman Ali Khan

“O my son, let not the birds be more clever than you are. They call in the early hours of dawn while you are asleep.

Luqman al-Hakim (Luqman The Wise)

“If you see Allah, Mighty and Magnificent, holding back this world from you, frequently trying you with adversity and tribulation, know that you hold a great status with Him. Know that He is dealing with you as He does with His awliya’ [friends] and chosen elite, and is watching over you, have you not heard His saying, "So wait steadfastly for the judgment of your Lord—you are certainly before Our eyes." [At-Tur 52:48]

Abu Hamid al-Ghazali

“Faith is a choice that requires continuous effort to keep it.

Abdulbary Yahya

“People should perform the du`a's that are found in the Quran and Sunnah, for there is no doubt in the excellence in the blessings of these du`a's. These du`a's are of the straight path—the path of those whom Allah favored, of the prophets, the sincere, the martyrs, and the righteous, and what a great company they are!

Ibn Taymiyyah

“The love of Allah is expressed by total obedience to Him and total surrender of one’s will to Allah.

Bilal Philips

“So the servant is always in need of his Lord, from every perspective. This is because He is the object of his worship, and the source of all of his help. So no one can bring him any good except Him, and nothing can better the situation of the servant except His worship. And on top of all of this, the servant is sinning, and there is no way that he can avoid this. So he is always in need, sinning, and he is in need of the One who always Forgives, the One who is Ever-Merciful. The One who always Forgives (al-Ghafoor) will Forgive his sins, and the Ever-Merciful will show him Mercy and bless him and be kind to him. So the servant is eternally between the blessings of his Lord and the sins of his soul.

Ibn Taymiyyah

“I love the righteous, though I am not one of them. Perhaps I will gain their mediation for me [on the Day of Judgment]

Imam ash-Shafi`i

“When you hear Allah say: "O you who believe!" then listen very carefully to His call, for you will not hear anything other than a good that He enjoins upon you, or an evil He wants you to avoid, or a combination of both.

Imam Ibn Abd as-Salam (`Izzaddeen `abd al-Aziz bin `abd as-Salam)

“Even acts of pure worship in the shar` (Allah's law) have [deep] purposes, and for this reason the Quran mentions the reasons behind these acts, for example the salah "restrains from shameful and unjust deeds" [Quran 29:45] and the zakah "to cleanse them and purify them thereby" [Quran 9:103] and siyam [fasting] "to acquire fear and mindfulness of God" [Quran 2:183] and the haj [pilgrimage to Makkah] "so that they might experience much that shall be of benefit to them, and that they might extol the name of God" [Quran 22:28]

Yusuf al-Qaradhawi

“There is nothing one of which can be superior to a thousand of them except when it comes to humans.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

“One of the things that shows us the precedence of knowledge over action is that the first verse revealed of the Quran was "Read!" [Quran 96:1], and reading is they key to knowledge, and afterwards verses were sent down regarding actions: "O you [in your solitude] enfolded! Arise and warn! And your Lord's greatness glorify! And your clothing purify!" [Quran 74:1-4]

Yusuf al-Qaradhawi

“Whoever acts without knowledge, what he corrupts is greater than what he fixes.

Umar ibn Abdul Aziz

“Life in the shade of the Quran is a blessing. A blessing that no one knows other than the one who has tasted it. A blessing that elevates one's life, makes it whole, and purifies it.

Sayyid Qutb

“And alhadmulillah... God has bestowed upon me the favor of living in the shade of the Quran for a period of time, in which I tasted of His blessings things I had never tasted before in my life. I tasted in it this blessing that elevates life, makes it whole, and purifies it.

Sayyid Qutb
