“‎Don’t wait to get old to worship Allah. If today is your last day, you are old already.

Abu Hafsah Abdul Malik Clare

“Sometimes we lose hope in turning to God and asking for His help because we feel like we have done too much wrong. And yet think of a child who has just angered his mother and immediately after trips and falls on the stairs. Even if that child had just angered his mother to tears, the moment he falls and cries for help, she runs to him. This is human mercy. And God is infinitely more merciful than a mother is to her child. So, do you think—no matter what you’ve done—when you’re falling and cry out to the *most* merciful…He wouldn’t come save you?

Yasmin Mogahed

“Its easy to give to those who give back. The real test of love is to give to those who can give you nothing in return.

Yasmin Mogahed

“Purifying the soul, acting upon knowledge, and fearing Allah have a tremendous effect on obtaining knowledge.

Ibn Taymiyyah

“The heart is a confusing, altering thing. No state is forever. No state of bliss lasts forever. But no state of pain does either. They all pass. So if you experience happiness, ask Allah to make it forever in jennah. And if you experience sadness, ask Allah to make it a means of purification and elevation for you. And know that this too shall pass.

Yasmin Mogahed

“What you see in other people is a reflection of yourself. A person of goodness sees goodness in others and a person of evil sees evil in others.

Shaykh Omar Suleiman

“Stick to the path of guidance, and do not be hurt by the small number of people who take this path; and beware of the path of misguidance and do not be fooled by the large number of people who destroy themselves on this path.

Al-Fudayl ibn Iyad (Al-Fozail ibn Iyaz)

“There is no u-turn in the grave so turn to Allah now.

Abdulbary Yahya

“It is not true that if we had true faith we would not be sad. Prophets (peace be upon them) and righteous people experienced a great deal of sadness. The Quran is full of stories in which the central theme is sadness. Sadness is a reality of life. The Quran is not there to eliminate sadness, but to navigate it. Sadness is one of the tests of life, just as happiness, and anger are tests.

Nouman Ali Khan

“Don’t grieve. Anything you lose comes round in another form.

Rumi

“If you are looking for a friend who is faultless, you will be friendless.

Rumi

“He whose knowledge makes him arrogant has been caught in Satan’s web. The more knowledge you have, the more humble you should be.

Mufti Ismail Menk

“al-Hasan al-Basri was asked: "Who is going to cry more than others on the Day of Resurrection?"

He answered: "A man on whom Allah has bestowed His Grace and who uses that for Allah's disobedience."

al-Hasan al-Basri

“And Ruh bin Zinba’ was traveling between Makkah and Madinah on a very hot day. A herder living on a mountain approached him, and he said to him: “O herder, come eat with me.” The herder said: “I’m fasting.” Ruh said: “You’re fasting in this heat?” The herder replied: “Should I let my days pass by in vain?” So, Ruh said: “You have used your days wisely, O herder, while Ruh bin Zinba’ has wasted his.”

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali

“And al-Qasim bin Muhammad said that ‘A’ishah would fast in the intense heat, and he was asked: “What drove her to do this?” He replied: “She would take advantage of the days before death.” And some of the righteous women would choose the hottest days and fast them, saying: “If the price is low, everyone will buy,” meaning that she wanted to do those actions that only a few were capable of due to how hard it was to do them, and this is indicative of the high aspirations these women had.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali

“This world is like a mountain. Your echo depends on you. If you scream good things, the world will give it back. If you scream bad things, the world will give it back. Even if someone speaks badly about you, speak well about him. Change your heart to change the world

Shams Tabrizi

“The blessing of [having/believing in] the Islamic religion is like any other blessing: if you are grateful [for it] it will increase, become established and firm, and if you are thankless it will decrease or disappear.

Muhammad ibn Salih al-`Uthaymeen

“Ibn ‘Umar went on a trip once with some companions, and they saw a sheep-herder who they invited to eat with them. He said: “I am fasting,” and Ibn ‘Umar said: “You are fasting in heat like this, and while you are between all these plants and sheep?” The herder replied: “I’m taking advantage of my remaining days.” Ibn ‘Umar was impressed by this reply and said: “Can you sell one of your sheep to us? We’ll feed you from its meat when you break your fast, and we’ll also pay you for it.” The herder said: “It doesn’t belong to me. It belongs to my master.” Ibn ‘Umar said: “What would your master say if you told him that it was eaten by a wolf?” The herder raised his finger to the sky and said: “What about Allah?” Ibn ‘Umar kept repeating this phrase that the herder was saying, and when he got to the city, he went to the herder’s owner and bought him and his sheep from him. He then freed the herder and gave him his sheep as a gift.

Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali

“Hudaa (guidance) is not attained except through `Ilm (Knowledge) and Rashaad (Righteousness) is not attained except through Sabr (Patience)

Ibn Taymiyyah
