“If one of you leads salah (formal prayer), then let him make it easy on them (by making it quick), for there are among them those who are ill, weak, or old. And if one of you prays alone, then let him make it as lengthy as he wishes.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ

“And I have mentioned in other books and studies of mine: That statistics, planning and research before actions are all at the heart of Islam, for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah upon him) was the first who ordered an organized census of those who had believed in him after his hijrah (migration) to al-Madinah. And the effects of planning can be seen in his life story in several scenes and situations.

Yusuf al-Qaradhawi

“Sometimes many different rulings are narrated from Imam Ahmad regarding the same issue, and this is for no reason other than the fact that his rulings changed based on changes in situations and circumstances.

Yusuf al-Qaradhawi

“Ibn al-Qayyim mentioned the verse: "Do not follow what you do not know" (Quran 17:36) as evidence for rejecting and prohibiting imitation, and he said: "Imitation is separate from knowledge, by the consensus of the people of knowledge." And in his I`laam al-Muwaqqi`een he stated more than eighty viewpoints toward proving imitation to be an invalid practice and countering the misconceptions of its supporters.

Yusuf al-Qaradhawi

“And the sickness that many of those who have worked in the field of religion is this: They stayed on the surface and didn't dive to its depths, because they didn't have the necessary qualifications to swim in it and find its pearls. So appearances distracted them from the secrets and the purposes, and the branches took away their attention from the principles, and they presented the religion of Allah and the rules of its shariah as scattered groups without anything unifying them and without relating the rulings to purposes and end goals, and so the shariah ended up appearing on their tongues and pencils as if it was deficient at attaining what's beneficial to the creation. But the deficiency is not in the shariah, rather it is in their understanding.

Yusuf al-Qaradhawi

“You never speak to a group of people something (religious) they do not understand, except that it will become a cause of fitna (trials, confusion and misunderstanding) to some of them.

Abdullah ibn Masud

“The proof is in your actions, when nobody can see you except Allah.

Abdulbary Yahya

“Let go of your grudges. Let the bitterness die tonight. Make a decision today that it’s time to move on. And begin again. New, this time. Never forget that what has passed you by was never meant to befall you. And what has befallen you, was never meant to pass you by. Know that sometimes Allah withholds from you, in order to give you something better. Keep your heart focused on Him, and He will take care of the rest. And remember: you will stumble, but that’s part of the path. Keep going. Keep rising, and refuse to give up.

Yasmin Mogahed

“A person’s greatest asset is his heart. Wherever his heart takes him, so goes his life…in this world and the hereafter.

Abdulbary Yahya

“Ya Allah, fulfill all my needs in a way that is pleasing to You. Or kill the need.

Yasmin Mogahed

“They say you don’t get over someone until you find someone or something better. As humans, we don’t deal well with emptiness. Any empty space must be filled. Immediately. The pain of emptiness is too strong. It compels the victim to fill that place. A single moment with an empty spot causes excruciating pain. That’s why we run from distraction to distraction, and from attachment to attachment.

Yasmin Mogahed

“Times of hardship can act as both an indicator, as well as a cure, for our broken relationship with our Creator.

Yasmin Mogahed

“The Quran is your life. Honour it, learn it, teach it, love it, read it and memorise as much as you can of it. It will protect you in life, at death, in the grave, On the day of Judgment, and will intercede to save you from Hell Fire and to elevate you in Jannah. The reward of the fluent is the peaks of Jannah amongst the noble scribes while those who persevere in learning it although it is foreign and difficult are given twice the reward!

Yahya Adel Ibrahim

“Ask Allah for everything, even if it is only a shoelace, because if Allah does not make it easy, then it will not be possible.

Aisha bint Abu Bakr (Wife of Prophet Muhammad)

“So we may live in this world, and have all the goods and possessions of deception that anyone could dream of, but have completely failed at the object of our existence. And if the object of our existence is, as Allah tells us, only to serve Him (51:56), then it would follow that only that which brought us closer to that end, would be a blessing, while that which took us away from that end would be the greatest calamity – no matter what those things were. And so it may be that the loss of everything dear to us is in fact the greatest blessing from Allah. If that loss brings us closer to the very purpose of our creation, what greater blessing could there be?

Yasmin Mogahed

“I loved. I lost. So I learned to love what is never lost.
Then even what I loved that can be lost was through what cannot be lost…so it was never lost.

Yasmin Mogahed

“There is a powerful and amazing thing about tawbah (repentance) and turning back to Allah (swt). We are told that it is a polish for the heart. What’s amazing about a polish is that it doesn’t just clean. It makes the object that is polished even shinier than it was before it got dirty. If you come back to God, seek His forgiveness, and refocus your life and heart on Him, you have the potential to be even richer than if you’d never fallen at all. Sometimes falling and coming back up gives you wisdom and humility that you may never otherwise have had.

Yasmin Mogahed

“Sometimes the same hardship you wish would be removed is the very thing that is curing, protecting and saving you.

Yasmin Mogahed

“There are pieces of your life, moments, events, decisions, and you saw no significance in them when they happen. You may even despair. It’s only when time goes by and you look back and suddenly you can see your whole life like a perfectly designed puzzle. Don’t be afraid of the puzzle piece you’re in now. It’ll fit perfectly…just like the rest. How could it not? The Designer is perfect.

Yasmin Mogahed

“‎The ability to readily forgive should be driven by an awareness of our own flaws and mistakes towards others. But most of all, our humility should be driven by the fact that we wrong Allah every single day of our lives, when we sin. Who are we compared to Allah? And yet, Allah, Master of the universe, forgives by day and by night. Who are we to withhold forgiveness? If we hope to be forgiven by Allah, how can we not forgive others? It is for this reason that the Prophet ﷺ teaches us: “Those who show no mercy to others will have no mercy shown to them by Allah.” [Muslim]

Yasmin Mogahed
